The European branch of the
International Society of
Ecological Economics (ISEE).
ESEE is a non-profit, member-governed, organisation dedicated to
advancing understanding of the relationships among ecological,
social and economic systems for the mutual well-being of nature and
people.
A high level biennial workshop on energy studies that has focused
on "Energy Flows in Ecology and Economy" (26/30 May 1998),
"Exploring Supplies, Constraints, and Strategies" (23-27 May 2000),
"Reconsidering the Importance of Energy" (24-28 September 2002), and
"Ecology-Energy Issues in Latin-America" (15-19 June 2004).
This programme
started in 1997, as part of the Doctoral Programme in Environmental
Sciences at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. The website
offers basic information on the programme, as well as several
written documents, including Master's dissertations and published
papers by the students.
